Dear Jessica,
I want you to know how sorry I am that Becky has passed away. Chirp called to let me know, and my heart just breaks for you! We are all only fortunate enough to have one mother, and no one can ever take that person’s place. You had a wonderful family in which to grow up, and they all loved you SO much! You were a bright spot in their lives, I know. I am so thankful that you still have your Dad, and I wish you the very best of days remaining with him, however long or short they may be. Please give him my regards.
Your Mom loved life, and she had not been able to enjoy it to the fullest, as she would have wished to do, for quite some time. I have no idea what your relationship or concept may be of God, but your Mom was prepared to be with Him for all of eternity. May we rejoice for her through our tears of sorrow.
With heartfelt sympathy and my prayers for your sorrow!
To the Thompson family:
I grew up down the street from Becky in Roanoke and went to school with her for 12 years. I remember many afternoons spent playing with Barbie dolls. Her mom made us wonderful Barbie outfits and we were the envy of other neighborhood girls.
I had not seen Becky for years, but I was saddened to hear that yet another of my classmates had died. I have a lot of good memories of our years of friendship. My thoughts and prayers are with you, now and in the days and weeks ahead.
