
Reginald William “Norris” Pressley, Jr., 54, passed away on Tuesday, April 30, 2013 in Portsmouth, Virginia. He was employed with Force Support Squadron at Langley Air Force Base in Hampton, Virginia. Reginald was born in Cleveland, Ohio and graduated from Lincoln High. Reginald proudly served his country as a United States Marine earning the rank of Lance Corporal and receiving the Rifle Expert and Pistol Sharpshooter Badges. Reginald loved watching movies, football, basketball, reading the newspaper, working at the golf course and listening to “Amazing Grace.” He received a Personal Care Assistant Certificate in Cleveland, Ohio in the early 1990s. His greatest love was his family. In early 2000 he accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Lord and Savior.
He was preceded in death by his father Reginald W. Pressley, Sr.; maternal grandfather Robert C. Starks, Sr.; paternal grandmother Alberta C. Pressley; paternal grandfather William C. Pressley.
He is survived by his son Anthony Jerone Pressley and his wife, Lauren; his beloved mother, Alice T. Williams; step-father, John W. Head; stepmother, Shirley Suber Pressley; siblings Carlton H. Pressley and his wife Rachel, Angela T. Pressley Harding and her husband Steven, Lawrence Pressley, Vincent E. Pressley, Phillip Pressley, Jalicia M. Ruffin and her mother Johnetta Core. He is also survived by his former spouse Deborah Ramsey Newton; grandchildren Breana Marie Pressley, and Jayden Anthony Pressley; maternal grandmother Alice T. Starks; nieces and nephews, April T. Pressley Stevenson and husband Darrell, Carlton Ricks, Nicole Mitchell, Aja U. Pressley, Amos A. Pressley and his wife Marie, Amber M. Pressley, Phillip LaCount Pressley, Amber Binion, Capri Ferebee and a host of other relatives.
The family would like to express their gratitude and thanks to Reginald’s supervisor, Dennis Foust and all of his co-workers at the Langley Golf Course.
A graveside service will be held Thursday, May 9th at 11 a.m. at Albert G. Horton Memorial Veterans Cemetery 5310 Milners Road, Suffolk, VA.
