Richard Gene Griffen, 55, passed away on Thursday, January 29, 2015 in Virginia Beach. Born on June 25, 1959 in Detroit, MI, he was the adopted son of William Griffen, born to Carol Griffen. Richard was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and was self-employed as a Stone Mason.

He is survived by his mother, Carol Griffen of Virginia Beach, VA; brother, Michael Griffen of Virginia Beach, VA; and sister, Mary Griffen of St. Petersburg, FL. Richard was predeceased by his father, William Griffen Alessi.

    Ms Griffen and Michael,
    It was a honor to care for Rick in his last days. My thoughts and prayers are with you as you grieve. He was very lucky to have you and Solomon and Sehera caring for him.
    May he rest in peace.
