Rita Rose Miller, 79, of Southern Shores, passed away Tuesday, October 18, 2011 in Chesapeake surrounded by her family. Born on June 21, 1932 in Philadelphia, PA, she was the daughter of the late Annunciato and Genevieve Guagenti DeFelice. Rita enjoyed playing bridge, cooking, spending time with her family, and was an avid lover of the beach.

She is survived by her loving husband of 53 years, Jack R. Miller; son,
Timothy J. Miller and his wife, Kathy, of Richmond; daughter, Mary M. Hartz and her husband, Jim, of Virginia Beach; three grandchildren, Lauren Whitt Miller, Ashley Brooke Miller, and Taylor Mackenzie Miller, of Richmond; and sister, Evelyn Quatrochi, of Chicago, IL. Besides her parents, Rita was preceded in death by her brother, Eugene DeFelice.

She was a kind and giving person who was loved by all and will be deeply missed.
