Robert David Glaubke, Jr., 29, passed away on Friday, October 20th, 2017 in Norfolk. Born on May 4, 1988 in Norfolk, he was the son of Robert and Amy Glaubke. Robert’s passion was hunting and fishing, and he loved everything about the outdoors. He was so happy to have achieved his dream job.
The day he found out he was going to be an uncle was one of the happiest times in his life and couldn’t wait to meet his nephew. Asher brought so much joy and happiness to Robert and he talked nonstop about him.
His family and friends meant everything to him, he cherished every moment and would always drop whatever he was doing and lend a helping hand. His loving heart was one of his biggest assets.

I am saddened to hear of the loss of Robert Jr. I met him but one time and did not get to know him. However, the stories that have been told always raised a smile by those who knew and didn’t know him. I wish to express my sincere condolences for you loss and will keep the entire family in my prayers. May God Bless you all and the Good Lord Bless and keep Robert Jr in his loving arms.
Words truly cannot express the sadness and emptiness we are all feeling right now. Robert was our adopted son from another mom and dad of course and a sibling to my three Randy, Jessie and Britney. We have known him since he was knee high, he always had a smile on his face, a camo hat and sunglasses…even at night. He shared his passion of nature with my boys and loved protecting my daughter as her big brother. Robert, we miss you terribly, we will keep you in our hearts and remember you and the impact you made on us. I wish this would of been a different outcome, but until we meet again, Godspeed! We love you!
Robert, Amy, Gabby and family, please know that we are praying for you all, you are in our thoughts. I can’t imagine what you are and will continue to go through. You were blessed to have Robert, I wish it was for much much longer! My heart is breaking for you, I pray the Lord will bring peace only he can bring in the storm. We love you all!
Praying for peace, comfort and healing during this very difficult time for your family.
I have known Robert since I was 16. I met him through Randy. I spent so. Much time with him over the years, made even more memories. He was always so goofy, telling jokes, out for a good laugh. I’ll never forget that. To this day, I can’t listen to Craig Morgan without thinking of him. Rob was the first person that ever showed me how to line dance. One of my favorite memories of him was a simple one. We were up at the farm for a weekend with friends, and he knew I brought a stash of Christmas Tree Cakes. I shared them, of course. On our way out, he was waving frantically out of his truck window. When I stuck my head out, he was yelling about how excited he was to find the one I had stashed in his camp hunting bag! Rob also became a friend to my stepdad, John. He spent time with him hunting and fishing. I will never forget Robert. I’ve spent every day praying for him, and for your family. My deepest condolences go out to his entire family. I hope God blesses you all, and brings you peace. Robert was truely a soul to celebrate.
Robert I am so sorry for your loss
Glaubke, you will certainly be missed by so many. May you rest in peace. – Jerry (Va. Beach, Va)
Robert, I am so sorry for you and your family’s loss. I will keep y’all in my prayers brother.
Tracy Everton and Gloubke Family,
My sincere condolences for Robert’s tragic loss. I worked with Robert at the Norfolk Police Officer. I will always remember him as being the funny, fun and outgoing goof that he was. Robert always had a smile on his face and he was great to be around. I remember he was soliciting pictures of feet one year so that he could help raise money for children in other countries who didn’t have shoes, through the TOMS shoe company.
Robert was an honorable man who served his community with bravery and integrety. Robert, you will be missed.
Sincerely,
Bea Huptich

I’ve always said I worry for my boyfriend because my mom blessed me with two brothers but God gave me many more. Robert was definitely one of them. It’s all so unreal for me I’m still waiting for that text from him saying what’s going on sis. I find myself thinking about him all the time I don’t think that will ever change. I love and forever will miss you Robert. I’m so sorry for his family and friends.
We are so sorry for the loss of your son. Our thoughts and prayers go out to you all. If you need anything at all please let us know.

Amy and Robert,
I am so sorry to read about your beloved son. Words cannot take away the pain and sadness you must be feeling. Prayers for you and your family.
I can never forget the great times me and Robert shared. From nights at the banque to hunting to just hanging out all the time. I was with Robert when he harvested his first deer with a bow. Robert introduced me to hunting with Dogs. Robert was a great friend and a great person and he will truly be missed by so many. My condolences go out to the family.
Robert, it was my honor to have had you on my platoon. You were a fine police officer, one that I am proud to say that I knew. My God look after you, your family, friends, and co-workers during this difficult time. You will be missed.

Robert was a batboy with the Norfolk Tides with me and my father. We really thought alot of Robert, he was hard working and had alot of fun doing something we all loved to do. I was known as Bull, and my dad was known as Lefty. Robert wad instantly a friend for life, he just had that “thing” about him that everyone like him. He will be missed immensely!!! He was a great guy. To the family of Robert, I pray that God will be with you in this time of mourning. R.I.P. Robert!!!
My wife Dawn and I have you all in our thoughts and prayers, may God comfort you in this time of sorrow.
We sat next to each other in the police academy. We helped each other stay motivated during tough times and make it to graduation. You will be greatly missed brother. Rest in Peace
