
Robert L. Smith, 72, was received into Heaven Friday, October 2nd, 2020
Bobby was born in Wilson, North Carolina July 4th, 1948 and was a resident of Chesapeake, Va. at the time of his passing. Bobby loved bingo, fishing, and most importantly being with and doing things with his family. Over his many years Bobby worked various jobs utilizing his skills in carpentry, painting and doing yard work. He loved spreading happiness among all he met, and most of all he loved the Lord.
Bobby was preceded in death by his father, Raleigh Smith; mother, Susie Hale; brother, Joseph Smith; sisters, Hilda “Scooter” Smith, Nannie Lois Kramer and her husband James Kramer, and Pat Gordon. He is survived by brothers, Raleigh Smith, Jr. and wife Margie, Jackie Smith and wife Theresa, Donnie Smith, Jerrell Stokes and wife Jane, Billy Stokes and wife Robin, and Jody Merritt and wife Paula; sisters, Ruth Anne Coghill, and Brenda Allen and husband Bill; and many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 6:00pm – 8:00pm, Tuesday, October 6th, 2020 at Family Choice Funerals & Cremations. A celebration of Roberts life will be held at 11:00 am, Wednesday, October 7th, 2020 at the funeral home. Burial will follow after the service at Chesapeake Memorial Gardens.
