Rodney Thomas Hill, 74, passed away on November 30, 2011 in Portsmouth. Born April 9, 1937 in Fauquier County, VA, he was the husband of the late Dorothy Mayes Hill. Mr. Hill retired from the U.S. Navy as a Chief Petty Officer after 26 years of service. He graduated from Roanoke Bible College in Elizabeth City, NC and was a member of Broadmoor Church of Christ, Chesapeake. He enjoyed bowling, playing softball and horseshoes, and reading handyman magazines.

He is survived by four sons, Larry W. Hill of Chesapeake, James T. Hill, John R. Hill both of Petersburg, VA and Joseph L. Hill and his wife, Tracy of Virginia Beach; and a grandson, Jeffrey N. Altmore. He was preceded in death by a son, Timothy A. Hill.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, December 10th at 11 a.m. at Broadmoor Church of Christ, 3045 S. Military Highway, Chesapeake.
