Ronald Gene “Pee Wee” Ellwanger, 79, of Roanoke passed away at his residence on Friday, July 31st, 2015 in Roanoke.

Born August 12th, 1935 in Roanoke, he was the son of Gene Ellwanger and Louise Clinebell Ellwanger Thompson.

He drove stock cars for many years and was an avid NASCAR fan.

Survivors include: one son, Curtis Ellwanger of Salem; two daughters, Carolyn E. Simmons of Botetourt County and Chris Ellwanger and husband Gary Lefler of Charlotte, NC; five grandchildren; Paige, Nicole, Jonathan, Olivia and Madison; and four great grandchildren.

There will be a time of family visitation from 2-4 pm on Sunday, August 9, 2015 at Family Choice Funerals and Cremations, 4922 Valley View Blvd, Roanoke.
