
Ronald S. Hirschlein, 83, passed away on January 1, 2011. Born on May 11, 1927 in Smithville, New Jersey, he was the son of the late Henry and Helen, and brother to the late Thomas Hirschlein.
Ron was one of six children and is survived by four: Henry, John, Richard, and Alice. He was the beloved and devoted father to Robin Mabie, Ronald Scott Hirschlein and Bruce Thomas Hirschlein, and Kathleen Cheryl Uibel; proud grandfather to Michelle, Melissa, Ethan, Jackie, Jessica, Tom, Heather, and Shawna; and a fulfilled great-grandfather to Braeden Davis.
Ron became a Mason in 1968. He was a member of the Free & Accepted Masons Richmond Lodge No. 230 and Past Master of the Franklin Lodge No. 134. He also held office in the Elk’s Lodge in Zephyrhills, FL. While in high school as a shop class student under the direction of Everett P. Bradley, Ron was selected to make US and foreign model airplanes for identification purposes. The model airplanes are periodically rotated for display at the Smithsonian Institute in Washington, DC. Ron’s model airplanes are the Corsair (US), Heinkel He 115 (Germany) and PBY-5 (US). He was drafted into the US Army AirCorp in 1945 serving for 2 years stating is was “the best time of his life.” He was employed with the Boeing Corporation for 6 years as a Technician for Floatation and rain-tight sealant of helicopters and structural bonding. Upon leaving Boeing, he became a sole proprietor of Hirschlein Upholstery in Medford, NJ from 1969 to his retirement in 1987. Ron was a volunteer Arbitrator for the Better Business Bureau in Camden County NJ for 5 years. He also served on the Burlington County Juvenile Conference Committee for 3 years and the Zoning Board of Adjustment for Evesham Township for 1 year.
Internment will be in New Jersey. Donations may be made to Free & Accepted Masons Richmond Lodge No. 230, 1790 Brandywine Drive Southampton, PA 18966.
