Roy “Phillip” Newby , 54, of Christiansburg, passed away Monday, February 10, 2014. Born Tuesday, February 24, 1959, in Baltimore, MD, He was the son of the late John E. & Margie Newby. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother John E. Newby, Jr.
“Phillip” enjoyed playing his guitar and spending time with his family. Left behind to cherish his memory are his Son, Bradley Phillip Newby; two Surviving Sisters, Brenda Nagle and
Pamela Akers and numerous extended family members and friends. He will be sadly missed by all.
A private service will be held. Online condolences may be left for the family via the Book of Memories.

Was so sad to see the news in the paper. Wishing you all a very special peace during this time. Phillip always had a smile and often a hug for each member of my family when we visited.
It is my sincerest wish for each of you that you know his smile will be missed and that he suffers no more.
