Ruth Senning Kern, 87, of Chesapeake, Virginia went to be with the Lord on Dec. 23, 2015. She was a long time resident of Severna Park, MD and a member of Woods Memorial Presbyterian Church. Retired from Anne Arundel Board of Education, her love for reading had an impact on many students.
She is predeceased by her husband of 40 years, William Robert Kern, and survived by daughters Mary Kern Brewster of Leesburg, FL, Jane Kern Cornish and husband CAPT Gregory J. Cornish, USN (Ret) of Chesapeake, VA, Grandchildren Patricia Cornish Bennett and husband Jeffery Bennett of Dunlap, TN, LCDR Christopher J. Cornish, USNR and wife Kristin Cornish of Atlanta, GA and Geoffrey Dane Brewster of Leesburg, FL.
Services and interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.

Mary, I’m so sorry to hear of your mother’s passing. You have my deepest sympathy.
Meg and Jane, your Mom was always so kind. I have such fond memories of spending time at your house playing and going to the pool. She will be missed.

Your Mom was always such a nice person and a pleasure to be around. I remember her as someone who enjoyed herself most seeing your happiness and accomplishments. She loved her kids and family dearly.
You can never replace a Mom and Mrs. Kern will be missed. But she will not be forgotten.
