On June 19, 2017 Samuel Dow Anthony, 79, passed away in Chesapeake, VA.

Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 60 years, Patricia Blair Anthony. He also leaves behind his daughter Teresa and her husband Bob, his son, David Dow Anthony and his wife Mona, and his grandchildren Matthew and his wife Teri, Jordan and her husband Brian, and Sarah. He is survived by two brothers, Seth R. Anthony and Paul D. Anthony; two sisters, Joan P. Starrett and Candace A. Warner, and a host of nieces and nephews who had a special place in his heart.

He was raised in Portsmouth, RI, earned a Master of Science from the University of Rhode Island, and pioneered Sonar Systems Engineering.

A memorial Celebration of Life was held Friday, September 8. He is in God’s loving care.
