Sandy Denise Counts, 50, passed away peacefully in her home, surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday, August 26, 2015 in Virginia Beach, VA, after a long battle with cervical cancer. Born on January 13, 1965 in Bristol, TN, she was the daughter of Jimmy Counts and Phyllis Pait Counts. Sandy had a tender spirit with a special place in her heart for animals. She loved painting, visiting Busch Gardens, taking trips to the beach, and was quite a lovely dancer. She will be remembered for her love for her family, friends and animals, and will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by her loving parents, Jimmy and Phyllis Counts of Virginia Beach,VA; a brother Cary Counts of Virginia Beach, VA; a sister, Lisa Todd and her husband, Kerry of Virginia Beach, VA; three nephews, Tyler Rocke, Joey Counts, and Justin Counts of Virginia Beach, VA; two nieces, Mary Anne Todd and Chelsea Counts of Virginia Beach, VA; and many loving cousins and other extended family.

A celebration of Sandy’s life will be held at a later date. Please check back for updated service information.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Sandy’s name to the SPCA of Virginia Beach.
