Shira Bea Taylor, 69, went to be with her God and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Thursday, June 12, 2014 in Virginia Beach, VA. Born February 2, 1945 in Bluefield, WV, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Blake and Edith Frances Taylor. Shira was a talented artist and enjoyed painting still-life, landscapes, and portraits. She also enjoyed the fellowship of her sisters in the faith where they would work together on crafts and projects at the First Presbyterian Church of Virginia Beach, where she was a member for many years. However, her greatest joy was spending time with her family whom she dearly loved. She will be missed by all who knew her.
Left to cherish her loving memory are her daughters, Tamathae Harden and her husband, Aaron, Shira Gant, and Aulinda Werching; sister, Inga Hines and her husband, Charles; grandchildren, Kenny and Addison Edwards, Joseph Suddith, Kayla Burns, Carrie Wersching, Jacob Gandt, and Caleb, Joshua, and Elijah Harden; great-grandchildren, Allie Edwards and grandson Suddith who is due to arrive in October 2014; nieces and nephews, Willie Widgeon, Deena Smith and her husband, Fred, Joseph and Anthony Widgeon, Tara and Cary Cofer IV, and Ryan Hite; and great-nieces and great-nephews, Crystal Sisouphanh, Nathan and Seth Widgeon, Jason, Ashleigh, Dylan and Savannah Slonaker, Victoria Slonaker, Cary Cofer V, and Hayden Cofer.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, June 14, 2014 at 11 a.m. at Family Choice Funerals & Cremations, 5401 Indian River Road, Virginia Beach, VA 23464.
