
Terry Jo Smith, 50, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by her loving family on Thursday, June 26, 2014. Born April 16, 1964 in Abilene, TX, she was the daughter of the late Wilbert Lee Oaks and Loretta Irene Bunch Oaks. Terry was a loving mother, amazing Nana, and a caring and compassionate friend and she will be dearly missed.
Left to cherish her loving memory are her children, Jessica Cummins and her husband, Ross of Baltimore, MD, Joshua and Jaclyn Smith of Virginia Beach, VA, and Jonathan Smith and his wife, Jazmin stationed at Whiteman AFB, MO; long-time companion, Kevin Rice; sister, Shirley Collins and her husband, Robbie of Willow Springs, MO; brothers, Rickey Oaks and his wife, Lourdes of West Plains, MO and Ron Oaks and his wife, Monica of Pomona, MO; and grandchildren, Eli Cummins and Lena Smith. In addition to her parents, Terry is predeceased by her sister, Tammy Smith.
A funeral service will be held Sunday, June 29, 2014 at 2 p.m. with a visitation to follow at Family Choice Funerals & Cremations, 5401 Indian River Road, Virginia Beach, VA 23464. Pastor David Slayton officiating.
