Thomas Joseph Jameson, 70, passed away on Monday, August 4th, 2014 in Chesapeake. Born on April 8th, 1944, and raised in Bangor, ME, he was the son of the late Joseph and Kathleen Shanley Jameson. As a young boy, he was an altar server in the Catholic Church. In 1961, an era when many were avoiding military service and the draft, Mr. Jameson enlisted in the U.S. Navy by eating four bananas and drinking a gallon of water to attain the required weight threshold. After his service he stayed in Norfolk, and worked for a number of local companies, including NorShipco. He was a big fan of Jeff Gordon, Roger Federer, and the New York Giants, who each won during the week of his death. He also rooted for the Boston Celtics and Red Sox. He was a master pool player, and was inducted into the Cue Master Hall of Fame.
He is survived by a daughter, Monique Milan; a son, Tony Jameson; Tony’s mother, Norma Jean Jameson; four grandchildren, A.J. Jameson, LeAnna Jameson, Joseph Milan, Matthew Milan; a sister, Charleen Rice of Topsham, ME; two brothers, Charles Jameson of Bangor, ME, and Walter Jameson of AZ; three sisters-in-law, Virginia Smeland, Shirley Pittman and her husband, Ben, and Denise Deal and her husband, Ty; a nephew, Marc Smeland; and several other nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his first wife Sharon Guynn; a son, Thomas Jameson, Jr.; and a sister, Frances. Even after he and Norma Jean divorced, Tommy remained friends with her and her sisters and brothers-in-law, which meant a great deal to her.
