Wendy Michelle Bowling, 32, of Roanoke went to be with the Lord Saturday November 29th, 2014. Wendy was born on April 14th, 1982 in Charlotte, NC to Dennis and Barbara Bowling.
A devoted wife to Joshua Badgett, together they restored an old family home and she became the fourth generation of her family to live there. She attended Blue Ridge School of Massage and Yoga in Christiansburg, and had a BS in Nutrition from Life University in Marietta, GA. She worked as a massage therapist and yoga instructor for over 10 years. During this time, she developed many clients, but they did not stay clients long. They became her friends and she committed herself to aid and care for them. A sincere animal lover, Wendy devoted much of her life to bettering the lives of her furry and scaly companions. She also spent much of her time gardening, and tending to her many plants and flowers. She was a light and inspiration to all who she encountered.
She is survived by her husband of six years, Joshua Badgett; her parents, Dennis and Barbara Bowling; her grandmother, Evelyn Adams; mother-in-law, Angela Crumley; numerous other family members and special friends; and her beloved dogs and cats, Ginger, Koda, Egon, and Cello.
A memorial service honoring her life will be held at 1pm Saturday, December 6, 2014, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 3808 Brandon Ave SW, Roanoke, VA 24018.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Angels of Assisi, 415 Campbell Ave SW, Roanoke, VA 24016, or to your local SPCA or animal shelter.

Dennis and Barbara, my heart breaks for you at the loss of your beautiful daughter. In case you don’t remember me, I worked with you, Dennis, at Allstate in Charlotte for several years. My son was born just a few weeks after Wendy and I remember we spent a lot of time talking about our kids. I’m so very sorry for your loss and will keep you in my thoughts and prayers.
Dennis and Barbara,
Our thoughts and prayers are with you at this tragic moment in your life. I cannot imagine the loss you are feeling at this moment. May each day help you heal as you remember the happy moments you shared together. Please share our condolences with both Gail and Evelyn. The Adams’ family hold a special place in our hearts. God bless you in your
loss.
Dennis and Barbara,
We have just heard of your lost of Wendy. Our heart is broken just as yours knowing of your child being taken. We do not always know the why but we of faith believe that God is in complete control in all things.
We pray God will comfort and hold you all close in his grace and mercy. God has the answers! Our love to all the family.
Mr and Mrs. Bowling,
First, my deepest sympathies. I can not imagine what you are feeling right now. I was devastated to hear of Wendy’s passing. I knew her best when we were in high school together but had the privileged to come into contact with her a number of times as we both grew up. She was always such a sweet girl and a very true friend to all who knew her. I wish there was more that I could do or say. Know that a part of your daughter will continue on in my thoughts, dreams and memories. She was a very special person.
Warmest regards,
Matt Garrett
