
It is with extreme sadness that we announce the passing of Bill Burbank, Jr. of Virginia Beach, Va. Just 66 years old, Bill passed away unexpectedly on July 18, 2022 in his home. He loved his family and friends fiercely, leaving this world a warrior and a hero. Bill was born on October 13, 1955, in Boston, MA. He graduated from St. Leo’s College. Bill entered the Navy in 1982 and attended Basic Underwater Demolition/SEAL (BUD/s) training in Coronado, CA.. He went on to become a Navy SEAL, served as a member of SEAL Team 4, receiving armed forces expeditionary medal, Navy unit commendation, humanitarian service medal, combat action ribbon, Navy expeditionary medal and Navy commendation. After receiving an honorable discharge he entered the Civil Service, and became a Federal Firefighter serving 25 years. Bill was known for his generosity and kind spirit often described as a ‘Teddy Bear’ with a knack for making people laugh with his colorful story telling. He will be dearly missed. Bill is survived by his brother John Burbank and sister Julie Burbank, and his Navy SEAL brothers in service. He is preceded in death by his brother Michael Burbank, parents Jean and William Burbank and his wife Linda Rose.
