William Abraham Haddock, Jr., 70, passed away on Monday, November 14, 2016 in the comfort of his home surrounded by his loving family after a short illness. William was born December 17, 1945 in Norfolk, VA to the late William Abraham Haddock and Frances Curto Haddock. “Bill” or “P-Pa” as he was known by his family and friends will always be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. He loved spending time with his grandchildren, fishing/crabbing, watching auto races, yard/pool work, doing his daily exercise routine, riding his bicycle and helping others to fix anything mechanical or manual. The best part of his day was spending time walking his fur baby, Zoey. He will be deeply missed. He had recently (July 2015) retired from the Norfolk Southern Railroad after 45 years of dedicated service.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 38 years and best friend for 40 years, Brenda Hicks Haddock; children: Crystal Andrews, Jeffrey (Haddock) Wilder (Lori) and Renea (Haddock/Wilder) Gaucher (Rob); grandchildren: Morgan and Madelyn Andrews, Amanda and Alex Wilder and Andy Geels, Ally and Kate Gaucher; siblings: Lena Walker (Rick), Angie Haddock, Sarita Swindell, Robert Haddock and Randy Haddock (Tracey); uncles: Marvin (Gil) Haddock and Joe Curto and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He was also survived by his mother-in-law, Mary Ellen Glass and brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Bedford and Patricia Hicks of Hickory, NC.
No matter what was going on his favorite motto was, “Don’t worry about it!”
Thank you to everyone who helped and showed concern for all of us during this time. A special thank you to Shelly, Natasha and Brittany of Intrepid Hospice and to his daughter, Crystal, who spent countless hours day and night caring for his needs. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital or the Virginia Beach SPCA.

To all of you who will always love and miss Bill-
I want to express my deepest sympathy. I am so glad that I was able to meet him and get to know him when I would come to Virginia Beach to stay with Jeff and Lori and family. I can picture him sitting at the table, showing interest in the kids after school. I can see him on the love-seat on the porch “watching” TV with the kids as he dozed! But my FAVORITE memory will always be the giggles….and he sounded JUST LIKE JEFF! So sweet and what a special man. May you feel the love of others and the arms of God holding you close. Pat
William will be missed by all who knew him, a very nice easy going person, always willing to help others. Our thoughts and prayers to Brenda, Randy and all of the family.
