
Sadly, William (Bill) Moore, III lost his hard and courageous battle with cancer. William passed away in the comfort of his home with family on March 16, 2015. Born March 1, 1941, William was a graduate of Frederick Military Academy and attended Campbell University. He retired from NAVSEACINCLANT after thirty-five years of civil service.
William is survived by his devoted wife of 53 years, Helen Cobb Moore. He was the proud father of two dedicated sons, William W. Moore, IV and wife Cathy and Thomas M. Moore and wife Diana; who provided for his every need throughout his illness. William was the caring grandfather of Amanda, Jordan, Jered, Reagan and a great grandfather to Asher. He is also survived by a sister, Cynthia, a brother Charles, and his best friend and ever faithful companion, Ellie Mae, who will be lost (but lovingly cared for) without him. William was predeceased by his parents, William W. Moore, Jr. and Helen Giffrich Moore, and a sister, Anne Gail. William, loved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and “brother” to Sug, Patsy and Eddie, you will forever be in our hearts.
Family and friends are invited to the home of Bill and Cathy Moore for a gathering to celebrate William’s life on March 21st from to 2 – 5 PM, 5872 Connors Dr., Va. Beach Va. 23464. A special thanks to Sentara Hospice, Dr. Robert C. Blackwood and Dr. Martin A. Araugo and staff for their care and concern. Memorial donations may be made to Wounded Warriors Project or animal shelter of choice in William’s name.

Willism has left a hole in our family. We will have to be fill this with the stories he shared with us and the years of memories we built as a family.
