Zanna Padgett McPhail, 78, went to be with the Lord on Friday, August 22nd, 2014 in Virginia Beach. Born on January 27, 1936 in Chinquepin Township, SC, she was the daughter of the late Sammie Padgett and Thelma Brown Padgett. Zanna’s life was centered around her relationship with Jesus Christ and her family. She loved teaching children about the Lord and Bible truths. Years ago, she started the first children’s church program at Laurel Avenue Church of Christ in Chesapeake, VA, where she later served as the Director of Day Care. The children’s church program which she developed became the standard which many other area churches implemented into their children’s ministries. Zanna will be missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by loving husband, Robert “Bob” Dale McPhail of Buford, GA; a daughter, Debra Ruth McPHail of Battleboro, NC; a son, Brian Robert McPhail and his wife, Cynthia of Buford, GA; a granddaughter, Alexis McPhail; and two grandsons, Glenn and David Magner.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, September 6, 2014 at 11:00 am at Kempsville Christian Church, 5424 Parliament Drive, Virginia Beach, VA 23462. Pastor Randall Childress officiating.
